I truly enjoyed reading all your posts and prospective about communication . As an occupational therapist, I can tell you that, we may not be using the Acronyms but communication principles are the same .
In my experience as a clinician, what also helps me is being culturally aware and sensitive , keeping health literacy in mind as I deliver my message .
You are so right Shaloo! The basic principles outlined her with an acronym are “the same” in all of our conversations. Not just as a clinician but also in our day to day life.
Being culturally aware and sensitive (or quite honestly just being caring) is such a key.
In terms of the health literacy, listening to the words the other person uses can give us clues into their perspectives including their health literacy.
